The Australian Medical Sheepskin AS4480.1 is the "Gold Standard" for Medical Sheepskins. These soft. supportive, pressure reducing  and breathable Medical Sheepskins are the #1 choice for Prevention & Treatment of Pressure Sores, Bedsores and Decubitus Ulcers.

The Australian Standard = AS4480.1, specifies the properties and behaviour of these premium grade sheepskins. All AS4480.1 sheepskins have the therapeutic properties needed to Prevent Pressure Sores and improve comfort.
AS4480.1 sheepskins are about 38 "x 24-26" , HiTemp wash and Urine Resistant. AS4480.1 Machine wash Medical Sheepskins in Woolskin Shamoo & Conditioner with Tea Tree Oil. Warranteed for up to 50 washes when the recommended care procedures are followed. Down-Under Wool recommends air dry for best care- wool does best with 15% residual moisture and kept away from direct sunlight or heat. The Australian Medical Sheepskin AS4480.1 is easily recognised by the green wool + the identifying stamp on the back of the product.
 

Benefits:

Best prevention is provided by direct skin contact with the WOOL- 24/7. Many care givers find using 2 or 3 Medical Sheepskins most helpful when washing is required. Air drying usually takes about 24 hours. Can easily be transferred from the bed to a chair for continuous use. This is a good time to give the sheepskin a good shake; to restore the wool pile.
 

Care:

Washing in Woolskin will disinfect, clean and condition the sheepskin.-both leather and wool. Use a damp cloth for spot cleaning.  Hand wash or machine wash the sheepskin in Woolskin, when it becomes "smelly" from use. Can machine dry at low heat and gentle agitation. until nearly dry. WOOL does best with 15% residual moisture. DUW recommends air dry for best care.

Warranteed by Shear Comfort to maintain its therapeutic properties for up to 50 washes in Woolskin; provided recommended Care procedures have been used. Of course, they will last much longer than 50 washes. Some of these sheepskins have been processed by hospital laundries more than 200 times and are still in great shape.

    High quality and generous size. This is my second purchase. I use it to take pressure off the inside of my knee and foot while sleeping on my side. I've used them for almost 20 years.

    This is a first-impressions review; I will update as the product is used. But I will note that we've used other, similar products from this company in the past and we've been very happy with them. I expect to like these sheepskins just as much. For now, I will just say; that they feel wonderful.
